Ex classified products

We supply a wide range of components and installation products for use in hazardous locations.

ATEX is an abbreviation of ATmospheres EXplosibles, which applies for use in EU/EFTA and describes equipment and products used in hazardous locations. IECEx is accepted in a large part of the world, technical requirements and standards are almost identical to ATEX regulations. It is therefore common that a product is both ATEX and IECEx certified.

In North America, classifications of hazardous locations have been developed differently compared to ATEX and IECEx. The classification in the USA is regulated by NEC article 500-516, where potentially hazardous areas are divided into Class I, II and III, Division 1 and 2 and subgroups A-G. The zone system based on IECEx was introduced in 1996, NEC article 505. There are differences compared to IECEx, when the zone system is applied, AEx marking is commonly required.

Eaton Crouse Hinds Series is our main supplier. The product line consists of enclosures, sealing fittings, junction boxes, components, panelboards, lighting, plugs and sockets.
